Argo Award

This award is named after the legendary ship in Greek mythology, 'Argo' which derives from the name of it's builder, Argus.  Jason and the Argonauts sailed on Argo from Iolcus to to retrieve the Golden Fleece from a far away land.

"Argo" is the festival's annual prize that honors the best directors of short films.  It is also the highlight of the festival's award night .

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Argo Film Festival's goal is to promote young people's expression, creativity and discover the next young film makers... Therefore, every year we will symbolically award great people, who have contributed a lot to the Art of Greek Cinema,  in order young film makers can step on their shoulders and with their fresh ideas and spirit, take it one step further. The Award was designed by Annita Xanthou and depicts the Argo ship, on which Jason and the Argonauts sailed.
