The recipient of the Vollywood Lifetime Achievement Award will also be honored with a marble star engraved with his or her name. It will be placed on a sidewalk at the heart of the Greek town, Volos. The first Vollywood Star was given to actor Kostas Voutsas, whose hard work, talent, and smile have brought forth positive impact to Greek cinema.
The Star integrates white and green marbles into one, creating a classic picturesque result. A new star will be placed yearly into the sidewalk, creating our own Vollywood Walk of Fame. We hope the Vollywood Stars will serve as permanent public monuments honoring the recipients.
Named after the legendary ship Argo in Greek mythology. The Argo was the ship on which Jason and the Argonauts sailed from Iolcus to retrieve the Golden Fleece from a far away land.
